The Rabbi and Yeshua-Jesus
Thom Berkowitz interviews a former Rabbi about his faith in Yeshua/Jesus as Messiah and Savior. You will hear how this accomplished, academic Rabbi studied the New Testament for his Phd just so he could find out how to argue against it. Dr Herb Opalek is Thom's guest all week as he finds out how the culture, and the context affect the way we interpret the scripture in order to understand the Jesus we know as Savior. Dr Opalek now oversees a Rescue Mission in California, and has been actively engaged in speaking about how Torah (God's Instruction) has not been replaced by Yeshua, but simplely fulfilled. Dr Opalek's view on the matter is that Torah helps us to understand what Jesus fulfilled, and how Jesus is the living Torah as it states in John 1:1.
This interview is an example of how the power of God can change a person, even the most hardeded person toward the gospel, by bringing a conviction of who Jesus is, and why He came. Dr Opalek became a follower of Yeshua as an Orthodox Rabbi through the reading of John 3.
