What Was the Standard Authority In the Life of Jesus.

Keith Johnson explains what the standard was in Jesus' life. Most of the Pharasee's lived by their own made up Rabbic laws, but the standard of authority with Jesus was the the Torah. (God's Instruction) This word Torah is often described or translated as "law" and people interpret that law like they would a legislative decree or civil law. In fact it means, "God's Instructions" almost as if God was saying, "here is the way to live your life in order to succeed with Me, and with others." The tone of that word "law" is far more meaningful and purposeful than just "law." God's instruction then can never pass away, it remains in tact, and lives through our faith in Jesus Christ. As Jesus said, He didn't come to replace the Law, (God's Instruction) but to fulfill it.
Matthew 5:17
Christ Came to Fulfill the Law
17“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.Matthew 5:18
18For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.Keith Johnson explains this in today's clip. Keith by the way is one of the featured speakers at the Hebraic Root Conference "Returning the Branches to the Root" October 13-15, 2011 in Bloomington MN. For more information click here. gnfi.org
