God did not reject Israel in 70 AD. The Jewish leaders' rejection of Yeshua/Jesus as Messiah did not then, nor does it now, mandate that the church replace Israel in God's redemptive program for the world. A false belief in the Christian Church's replacement of Israel in God's covenant promises has strongly contributed to the nourishment of anti-Semitism historically. In fact, the Enemy continues to spread his hateful lies about the Jewish people to this day so that anti-Semitism yet continues to manifest itself in the belief and behavior of millions of Christians - both eastern and western traditions.
Jerusalem was destroyed and Judah scattered in 70 and 135 AD only to suspend God's prophetic timetable as revealed in Daniel's 70 weeks prophecy of how God will fulfill His Messianic promises to Israel. (Daniel 9:24-27; Jeremiah 31:27-40)
To date, the God of Israel's temple in Jerusalem has remained desolate as proof to Israel that Yeshua/Jesus was the promised Messiah son of David, the Son of Man. He was the One promised to come and, as divine Savior, replace the fallen human shepherds of Israel with Himself. He is returning to fulfill His promises of bring the sons of Jacob out of the nations to their promised land. (Daniel 7:9-18; Ezekiel 34:10-16, 23-31; Matthew 21:42-45)
Good News for Israel encourages people of all races and ethnic backgrounds to get in step with God's sovereign plan for the world. (Is. 46:9,10). Just as all of the prophecies concerning Jesus' first coming were fulfilled to the letter, so all the prophecies pertaining to His second coming will also come to pass - including the restoration of the nation of Israel, which has already begun.
The times of the Gentiles are quickly coming to a close. God has begun to restore the people and promises of Israel. Whatever peace and blessed goodness begins in Jerusalem shall flow forth into all nations. Praying for the peace of Jerusalem means praying for the peace of the whole world. (Isaiah 2:1-11; Psalm 122:6)
